Lior Sudami – Injured from a Direct Missile Hit on His Home

On that horrible Shabbat and Simchat Torah morning, 10/7, a barrage of missiles was launched at Ashkelon, a city 20 miles north of the Gaza Strip. Lior Sudami, his mother and his mother’s aide, heard the warning sirens and turned on the radio.

When they heard that Hamas terrorists had infiltrated Israel and were storming the area, Lior went to lock the front door of their apartment. At that moment, a missile hit their apartment. Lior was thrown across the room from the force of the blast.

Bleeding from his leg, Lior crawled to the hallway to call for help from the neighbors. Most of the neighbors were elderly, and were hiding in their homes, unable to help. When the families of the neighbors arrived, they found Lior.

Lior was rushed to nearby Barzilai Hospital. He underwent a six-hour operation on his leg. As missile alert sirens continued to sound in the next few days, adding intense trauma to the already traumatized survivors, Lior was flown by helicopter to Beilinson Hospital in the center of the country. He underwent another operation.

A few days ago, Lior was admitted to Loewenstein Rehabilitation Medical Center, where he will get the best care possible.
