They are still on the battlefield
Since the outbreak of the Iron Swords War, more than 12,000 soldiers and security personnel have been wounded. Many of them are coping with complex, multi-system injuries that demand long-term physical, functional, and psychological rehabilitation. Loewenstein Rehabilitation Medical Center is at the forefront of this national effort; the center has expanded its operations nearly 150% in order to provide the best possible care for every wounded soldier.
With the help of our outstanding medical and rehabilitation teams from Israel and around the world, and through the use of innovative technologies and ongoing psychological care, we work tirelessly to restore each individual’s independence, confidence and hope for a full and meaningful life.
Donations from Israel and abroad enable us to purchase advanced medical equipment, upgrade infrastructures, and expand the hours of rehabilitation care that we provide. Notably, all these needs are not funded by the government. For example, we established a gym designed especially for wounded warriors requiring intensive physical rehabilitation; expanded our rehabilitation kitchen which promotes the practice of basic motor skills and healing social interactions; and have provided complementary therapies that boost physical and emotional wellbeing.
In addition, the Center provides scholarships for higher education, academic preparatory courses, and vocational training, recognizing that effective rehabilitation must also include building a future vision and goals. These scholarships — made possible by our donors.– are awarded by the Friends of the Loewenstein Rehabilitation Medical Center Association to soldiers who were treated at Loewenstein after October 7, 2023.
Your vital support for the rehabilitation of soldiers and security forces personnel, to whom we owe our lives, allows us to provide the highest standard of long-term care and assist them in rebuilding their lives with strength and dignity.
